IT'S FINALLY SPRING
Yes, I know it's Spring everywhere. Here in the Northeast, we are finally seeing the signs of Spring! Especially, looking at my Lilacs I just picked from my garden. Aren't they so pretty and they sure do smell yummy. They are one of my many favorites.

My Garden In The Making
Wouldn't you know, we have 90 degree weather and so I plant my garden... and for sure it turns cold again with a slightly frozen dew. Can't win for trying. But that won 't get me down. My Dear Hubby and I planted, oh, tomatoe's, potatoe's, cabbage, lettuce and many other veggies. You can't see them very well, not yet anyway. But here is it MY GARDEN. Oh! How I love gardening..and I just can't wait to see what grows..
We had to put up a chicken wire fence and seal the bottom with field stone. Those little bunnies love to feed on my newly planted veggies... So we had to out smart them. My hubby built me a gate a few years back.... Oh, and how do you like my scarecrow? .....

Something I'm Teaching Myself
I'm so amazed by these beautiful banners and logos that I see, so Iam trying really hard to teach myself and here is my first....I continue to learn using my programs and hopefully will turn out some awesome banners. Stay tuned and keep checking back

Oh and I can't forget My Italian Easter Bread, Yummy!
Here is what I did tonight.....
Melt 1 cake of yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water. Add 1/2 tsp salt. Add 1/2 cup of warm milk. Add 1 cup of flour. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Then add 7 cups of flour and 6 eggs one at a time. Mix well. Knead 10 minutes. Cover, let rise 1 hour. Knead and roll out 1/2 of dough flat. Roll out second half and sprinkle with olive oil, oregano, raisins, and a little black pepper. Mix cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle on top of all seasonings. Roll up like making cinnamon rolls and cut into slices of small rolls. Place rolls flat side down on the first piece of flat dough. Pinch edges. Brush top with 2 eggs mixed with water. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Enjoy!
P.S. I couldn't give you measurements of filling as I don't have any, this is an old family recipe.
We have this on Easter morning with hard boiled eggs....

HAPPY NEW YEARS ~ FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS ~
Well, it's been a wonderful Holiday season. I was very busy, went to NYC to see the Tree and went by MACY'S to view their wonderful store front displays. Even did some shopping. Then had my MOM for the week of Christmas, which was a real treat. Christmas eve eve at my dear daughter's, and Christmas Eve at my house, then off to my sisters for Christmas day. Then cooking again for New Years Eve at my house...phew!!!
Then had best friends for dinner on Sunday with lots more cooking. All in All I had one of the best Christmas' in while. I really don't want the season to end. I still actually have all my decorations up!. My sister says I'm kooky but oh well I really like the tree lit up at night and can use the brightness on these dreary days of winter. Soon I will decorate my small tree for Valentines Day... with lotsa handmade hearts. Valentines day is such a lovely holiday!!!

Trip to Lancaster, Pa.
My Dearest Hubby took me to Lancaster, Pa. home of the Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch...O what a great time we had. Above is an old barn that was alongside our motel. That was about the only pic we could get. As you may know we were not allowed to take pictures, as it would be disrespecful to the Amish and their families. We visited the towns of Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse. Oh what wonderful treasures there are and the food is just unbeleivable. Needless to say we brought home lots of goodies! It was a wonderful time.
